My answer is short and sweet....YES! These are by far the most amazing eyeshadows that I've ever had in my entire life. I have about thirty and it is kind of like my little collection. Each and every color that Ive tried out has been extremely pigmented and with a little help from and eyeshadow base or not, they stay on pretty much all day with just a bit of fading and smudging. With such a wide variety that is constantly changing, you are sure to find the perfect shades, or few shades that you absolutely love! With my past experience, M.A.C. is the way to go!
Being on a budget and having a little but of obsession with makeup, you would think that i would rather buy alot of cheaper drugstore makeup rather then wait, and spring for more expensive, high quality brands. Well, truth is, i used to and i was perfectly content with it until my roommate criticized me for bragging about all of my "great finds" from the drugstore. After asking her multiple questions about her preferences she finally let me try her M.A.C. eyeshadow, "All that Glitters". I was speechless walking around campus all day, getting compliments left and right. By the end of the day my makeup was still perfect and i was convinced that this was my new obsession. To this day, "All that Glitters" is still my favorite eyeshadow from M.A.C.
Don't get me wrong, I love the adorable little palettes from M.A.C. with 15 eyeshadow in it, but what looks better, 30 eyeshadows individually packaged or two black pallets sitting in your drawer or pushed to the side of your vanity? Defiantly, the individual, single eyeshadows. Also, i mean, there is also the nice packaging and the spherical shape that is great for displaying, unlike drugstore brands.
While were on the subject of cheaper eyeshadow brands, let me take a minute to discuss dupes. Basically, dupes are products that looks like a product from an expensive, name-brand cosmetic store, but for less. The keywords there are LOOK LIKE. That means, same color, and if your lucky, the same consistency. The things that i like most about M.A.C cosmetics is the fact that they have great pigmentation, last on your lids all day, and last FOREVER in there cute little single containers,. I use each neutral color once a day or once every two to three day and they last me at least eight or nine months. While a drugstore eyeshadow lasts about 4 months when used at the same frequency. Twice the price fr more then twice the application? I'm sold! And don't even get me started on the more funky, colored eyeshadows that i use a little bit of about twice a week. Those last me about a year and a half! i find that pretty amazing!
So... save or splurge? Defiantly splurge! But don't pay the full 15 dollars at a M.A.C. store or counter! Do you have an outlet store or an outdoor mall around your house(at least for the east coast)? Try to find a CCO (cosmetics company outlet)! They usually have a whole wall dedicated to M.A.C and very large variety of eyeshadows. The best part? Each eyeshadow is only about TEN DOLLARS. Defiantly a good deal considering that most drugstore small duos are ten dollars as well. So I'd say go try it out! And make sure to try on my favorite eyeshadow "All that Glitters!". Au Revoir!
